Objects needed:
Playdoh or clay - something that can be formed and shaped. I'm using chocolate playdoh (for a fun together time activity, you could make the playdoh with the kiddos!) I'll post the recipe below.
Lesson:
It's simple! Set down with your kiddos and have them make different things with their playdoh. Have them make themselves and talk about how different they are and how different God has made them from the rest of their family, friends,etc. Let them just play and make anything they want. Then, open your bibles together and read this -
Isaiah 64:8
Yet, O LORD, you are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
Talk about how God created us all - unique. God doesn't make mistakes. Every part of who we are comes from Him.
Be blessed today!
Chocolate Playdoh
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tarter
Combine these ingredients until they are THOROUGHLY MIXED. Then add 1 1/2 tsp. cooking oil and 1 cup boiling water. Mix and knead until you have a nice smooth ball. There you go - chocolate playdoh!

I tried this one tonight after dinner. We got out Mandie's play dough and made all kinds of things, and while we made stuff I tried to explain to Mandie what a 'potter' is, and that 'clay' is just another word for play dough. Then we read the verse after we cleaned up . . . when I told her that SHE was the clay, and God is the potter that made us she perked up and smiled big. I'm not sure how much she caught . . . but it was certainly the watering of that seed. Thanks for the great idea!!
